Rosanne Cash enters Country Music

Rosanne Cash, the famous pop and rock singer is now saying that country music is in her genes and she is planning to start adopting that genre. Like her father Johnny Cash and her step-mother’s musical Carter clan she also has the knack of country music in her soul.

When she performed this earthy genre in Hancher concert on Wednesday at the Englert theatre the crowd went crazy listening to her. They stamped their feet and moved their waists to every tune she sang. She was showered by her fans and her father with applauses and cheers throughout the 100 minute concert.

She sang all the songs from her latest music album consisting of 100 essential country songs. The changes that she has made in few of these songs which are in the CD are that she has changed the tempo of the songs and have added a few edgy alto vocals.

Throughout the concert she was throwing glances and having chats with her fans which made the concert quite an interactive one. her first song was opened by the music of her band with her husband as the lead guitarist. The audience enjoyed each and every moment of the entire event.

The Texan country rock band “The Cassayettes” performed for 40 minutes earlier in the show with songs from their latest album “Shake Down the Sun” which was released last November. The Cassayettes are lead by guitarist cum songwriter Glenn Yoder who is known for his witty and evocative lyrics.

The initial tunes of Cassayettes were closer to The Eagles, but their guitarist Mike McCullagh gave some progressive rock with his solos. Strong country roots where evident in most of their songs with garage rock and cranked up tempo. Overall “The Cassayettes” did nice balanced act.
